"A new patriotic website is being hosted by Fellowship Independent Baptist Church, San Antonio, Texas.   Please take time to read the letter below and to browse through our website. 

Dear Friend,

I would like to introduce you to a fresh new patriotic site for the internet. The idea was that of Loretta Kent, wife of Pastor Michael D. Kent, of Fellowship Independent Baptist Church, San Antonio, Texas. The site will showcase service members serving in the military, honoring them, and reminding God's people to keep them in their prayer's.

The Website will provide a portal for family member's, concerned friend's and loved one's to leave a name and a brief story for service members on active duty they would like to be remembered in prayer. A Blue Star flag will displayed in the Church along with a picture and brief biography honoring each service member who's name has been added to our prayer list.

The site is called www.bluestarfamily.org. I believe God answers prayer, and that we ought to pray for those who sacrifice and serve in our military and in our defence.

Mrs. Kent had a vision for this program long before it developed into the Blue Star Family website. She, like many other women, had her husband go off to the Vietnam War in the 1960’s. I am sure that she prayed for her husband during those trying times, not only for his sake, but for the safe return of all of the troops. I believe that a part of her prayers were answered because we now have Pastor Kent as a preacher in San Antonio, Texas.

When the Kent’s moved to San Antonio, Texas, they did so believing it to be the will of God for them after much prayer. Once they were in San Antonio, Bro. Kent accepted the call to serve as pastor of Fellowship Independent Baptist Church where they have been for over 23 years. They have four children, two boys and two girls. As the children grew, their oldest son, Michael D. Kent Jr., enlisted in the Army and was sent to fight in Gulf War I.

When Mrs. Kent’s son had to go off to war, she faithfully asked the Church to remember their son in prayer. Once again her prayers did not go unanswered, and God brought her son back home safely. Now another generation in the Kent's family is serving on active duty, and one of Mrs. Kent’s daughters has a son that is in Iraq now as I am typing this article. Mrs. Kent has brought her grandson's name to the church and asked them to pray for him and his safe return from Iraq. The church has a Blue Star Flag that has been displayed in the church until her grandson returns home safely. I have heard about the Kent's grandson, and listened to stories about him. While I have never met him, I am reminded by the Blue Star flag displayed with his picture in the Church to remember him in my prayer's.

The Church would like remember your loved one's serving on active duty in our military. Please take time to review our website and send us a picture, brief biography of how your loved one is serving. We in turn will add the service member's picture to the display and their name to our prayer lists, and will remember them in prayer by name until they return home safely. As a thanksgiving gift to you we want to send you a Blue Star decal and information on how best to display it so you can honor and remember your loved one until they safely return home.

We thank you and your loved one's for their sacrifice to our country and for the freedoms we enjoy.
